01. Cold Moon
This track was "sitting on the shelf" for some time. Later, a few acid bass treatments and warped melodies
were added to the foundation. Then, it as shelved again. Finally, it's now presented here in this final chapter
of the Full Moon E.P. series.

02. Manus machina (other titles included: Machine manipulations || Machina Manus)
This is a live recording using just the Roland tr-8 and Basbot tt-303 hardware.
All of the beat changes and 303 tweaks were performed manually and recorded in one take. No multi-tracking
or automation was conjured in the production of this track.


= History of the Cold Moon / Manus machina =
The Full Moon for December 2018 rises on the 22nd — very near
the winter solstice this year!

In Native American cultures, December’s full Moon was known as
the Full Cold Moon. It is fittingly associated with the month when the winter cold fastens its grip and the nights become long and dark.
This full Moon is also called the Long Nights Moon by some Native American tribes because it occurs near the winter solstice — the day with the least amount of daylight (duh!).
This year, the Full Cold Moon reaches its peak just a day after the winter solstice, meaning it will appear full to the naked eye on the night of solstice.
The last time the full Moon occurred exactly on the winter solstice was in 2010, but it won’t happen again until 2094!

"Manus" is the also Latin word for "hand". "Manes" in Roman religion, refers to the souls of the departed, particularly those who were morally ambiguous. In DS2, The Abyss brought forth Nashandra, Elana, Nadalia and Alsanna. They are the grandchildren of Manus.

The New Latin term deus ex machina is a translation of a Greek phrase and means literally "a god from a machine." "Machine," in this case, refers to the crane that held a god over the stage in ancient Greek and Roman drama.
